Four ‘Jackets Swipe Liberty League Weekly Honors

TROY, NY – Four University of Rochester Yellowjackets: Susan Bansbach, Cole Goodman, Molly Mason and Aaron Whitley, earned Liberty League Weekly Honors, as announced by the conference on Monday.
 
Bansbach was named the Liberty League Women's Track Performer of the Week, Goodman was named the Men's Field Co-Performer of the Week, Molly Mason was named the Softball Performer of the Week and Aaron Whitley was named the Baseball Performer of the Week.
 
Bansbach won four events and was named Liberty League Track Performer of the Meet at the Liberty League Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend, helping the Yellowjackets to the team title.
 
The senior helped set a UR, Liberty League and meet record in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 24.59 seconds. Bansbach then added another individual win in the 400 meters, running a time of 55.47 seconds. Bansbach was also a part of two winning relays, as the senior ran on the 4x100 meter relay which ran a time of 47.27 seconds, another conference, meet and school record.
 
To close out the meet, Bansbach anchored UR's 4x400 meter relay, which won by over 16 seconds in a time of 3:48.75, an additional meet record. Across Division III, Bansbach now ranks #20 in the 200 meters and #18 in the 4x100 meter relay.
 
Goodman was a double-winner and earned co-Field Performer of the Meet at the Liberty League Outdoor Championships over the weekend at Fauver Stadium. Goodman jumped 15.25 meters in the triple jump, breaking UR's longest-standing school record, which was set back in 1974. Goodman's jump ranks No. 4 currently in Division III and set both new conference and meet records.
 
Additionally, Goodman won the long jump with a 7.34-meter leap. Goodman's pair of victories helped the Yellowjackets to a runner-up finish in the team standings in the meet.
 
Mason was UR's leading hitter and run producer in a four-game, weekend sweep over Union and Skidmore to close out the regular season. Mason hit .500 (6-for-12) with three runs, three RBI and two doubles.
 
The sophomore slugged .667 and reached base at a .500 clip, also going 3-for-4 in stolen base attempts. Her best game was on Sunday against Skidmore, where she was 3-for-3 with a run, RBI and three steals. Mason recorded a hit in all four of Rochester's wins.
 
Whitley led the Yellowjackets to a two-game sweep over Bard in the Liberty League Crossover Series over the weekend. The senior outfielder hit .875 (7-for-8) with six runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and four RBI. Whitley was also 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts, slugged 1.875 and had a .889 OBP.
 
In Saturday's game one win, Whitley went 4-for-4 with four extra-base hits, notching two doubles and two home runs for 12 total bases, the third most in school history. He also added four runs scored and four RBI and was 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts. On Sunday, he added three more hits and two runs scored.
