University of Rochester football will open their 2023 slate home against Utica University on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 12:00 p.m. inside Edwin Fauver Stadium in the Brian F. Prince Athletic Complex.
 
Coming off a 3-7 (1-5 LL) campaign that saw junior running back Daniel Papantonis earn Second-Team All-America honors, the 'Jackets enter their sixth season and seventh year under Head Coach Chad Martinovich with nine returning starters on both sides of the ball.
 
Five of the six Yellowjacket football assistant coaches also return for the 2023 campaign, including both the offensive and defensive coordinators, Adam Griggs and Chris Sapp. Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach Jason Henshaw is also back for the 2023 season, as well as Vaughn Nichols-Taylor (LB) and Justin Bosch (WR).
 
This year, they'll be joined by a new face on the sidelines in Special Teams Coordinator, Brian Davidson, who joins the 'Jackets after spending two seasons at John Carroll University.
 
Following their season opener against the Pioneers, the Yellowjackets host another Pioneer squad in Alfred State College, this time under the lights of Fauver Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.
 
Rochester then wraps up its non-conference slate with a pair of matchups in New England, visiting Salve Regina in Newport, RI on Saturday, Sept. 16, and the University of New England on Saturday, Sept. 23.
 
The 'Jackets will be playing their first-ever matchups against both New England foes, having yet to face either the Seahawks and Nor'Easters in their 120-plus year history.
 
UR opens its Liberty League schedule in Buffalo, NY against the Buffalo State Bengals on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 5:00 p.m., before its conference home opener vs. the Union College Garnet Chargers on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1:00 p.m.
 
Next up in October for UR is another road, conference clash at St. Lawrence in Canton, NY on Oct. 14, before the Yellowjackets host the 2022 Liberty League champ, Ithaca, on Saturday, Oct. 21 at noon.
 
The 'Jackets wrap up their 2023 road slate in Troy, NY against RPI on Saturday, Oct. 28, before returning to Rochester for their final matchup of the season on Nov. 11, hosting Hobart in their home finale at 12:00 p.m.
 
Should the Yellowjackets reach it, the 2023 NCAA Football Championship Tournament will begin on Saturday, Nov. 19.
