Men’s Soccer Fights to 1-1 Draw at Emory

Atlanta, GA – The University of Rochester men's soccer program completed their regular season finale at Emory with a 1-1 draw. This brings the Yellowjackets 2024 regular season record to (9-4-4) overall and (3-2-2) in UAA conference play.

The lone Rochester goal was scored by Milos Bisenic, 53 seconds into the second half. Bisenic received a cross from Kamal Ibrahim directly in front of the goal which he powered past the goal to put Rochester on the board.

The regular season finale was a balanced matchup, as shown by the tied final score. Along with this was an 11-10 shot count in favor of Emory. UR was able to put four shots on goal compared to the Eagles three.

The first half was kicked off by some back-and-forth play, compounded by shots from Kol Bassuk and Tyler Moran, which were both saved by the Emory goalie.

Toward the end of the 1st half, Rochester was able to put together two more shot opportunities, but Johnny Makulas's shot was blocked and Tyler Moran's shot missed just above the goal.

The match went into halftime at a 0-0 draw, with Rochester getting five-shot chances to Emory's three.

The Bisenic goal to kick off the half gave Rochester a much-needed bolt of energy but there were still just under 45 minutes of play left.

Emory kept themselves squarely in the game producing eight chances in the second half until they were able to convert one in the 87th minute when Ryan Winkler scored low center off assists from Grant McCarty and Phillip Head.

UR was unable to regain the lead, leading to the 1-1 match result.

Moran was Rochester's shot leader, producing three shots total, with two being on goal.

The Yellowjackets will now await a possible bid to a NCAA tournament game in the upcoming week.
