The University of Rochester men's tennis team closed out the home portion of its 2023-24 schedule with a sweep of SUNY Oneonta, winning 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Goergen Athletic Center Tennis Courts.

Rochester (9-4), ranked #48 in the latest Division III rankings, had four double-winners on the day, with sophomore Kavin Shukla picking up the match clinching point at second singles. Oneonta falls to 8-8 on the season with the loss.

UR's double-winners were Kai Yuminaga, Ethan Samora, Kei Ogawa and Alex Kulvivat.

The match started with Rochester winning three quick points in under 45 minutes during doubles play. The third doubles team of Surya Rajamani and Kulvivat were 8-1 winners to get the wins started. Krish Vennam and Ogawa followed suit with an 8-2 win at second doubles, with Yuminaga and Samora finishing off an 8-2 win at the top spot.

All six singles matches went in favor of the Yellowjackets in straight sets. Yuminaga topped Oneonta's August LePique 6-2, 6-1 for the fourth UR point at first singles.

Shukla then earned the clincher with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at second singles over William Schmid.

Things kept rolling along for Rochester as Samora won 6-3, 6-1 at number three and Ogawa earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at number four.
