The University of Rochester men's tennis team completed a strong weekend with its second straight shutout, defeating visiting Oswego State 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Goergen Athletic Center.

Rochester's win moves the teams record to 8-5 on the season, with the Lakers dropping to 2-3 overall in 2025.

Sunday's match allowed the Yellowjackets to showcase the depth of their lineup, with ten different players combining to pick up wins. Just two individuals,
Surya Rajamani and
Liam Rieger, finished as double-winners for Rochester.

The match started well for UR, with the Yellowjackets combining to drop just one game across the three doubles contests.
Kavin Shukla and Rieger were 6-0 winners at number three for the 'Jackets, while
Krish Vennam and
Ahaan Malhotra posted a second doubles win by the same score.
Alan Wang and Rajamani completed the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win at the top spot on UR's order.

In singles,
Joseph Xia started things off with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Zach Demott. Rieger followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Colin Byer to put the Yellowjackets up 3-0 in the team scoreboard.

Josh Chu, UR's number one player on Sunday, clinched the match with his 6-3, 6-0 win over Matt Mannara.

Closing out the shutout win for Rochester was
Ethan Samora at number two, Rajamani at number five and
Eitan Fay at number six. Samora won 6-1, 6-1 over Austin Davis, Rajamani topped Miguel Garcia by the same score and Fay won 6-3, 6-0 over Tyler Yhun.

Up next for the Yellowjackets is a two-match road weekend next Friday and Sunday. UR plays at Stevens first, before heading to NYU in the weekend finale.
