A late spurt by the Judges trimmed the lead down to nine at halftime, with URochester sitting up 41-32.
After five minutes of play in the second period, Brandeis was able to trim the lead down to six, trailing 53-47, before Oprea really started to heat up, going on a 9-0 burst by himself to race the advantage back out to 15, reaching a game-high.
Oprea scored one of five 3-pointers with 12:12 remaining to make the score 65-50, but the Yellowjackets went cold from the floor for the next five minutes, scoring only from the free throw line, as Brandeis chipped away at the lead with a 13-6 stretch.
Jai Deshpande scored seven points in the run for the Judges as the lead was back down to eight points.
Brandeis kept clawing back, getting within five points before
Justin Odibo swished a high-arching 3-pointer for the 'Jackets, and on the next possession, Owusu stole the ball and ignited the crowd with a spectacular windmill breakaway slam with 2:02 left.
Less than a minute later, the URocheter advantage was back down to four points though, as Aedan Using and Elias Rodl sank back-to-back 3-pointers for the Judges, pushing the score to 84-80.
