Corelli Selected to USBWA All-Rochester Area Team

University of Rochester women's basketball sophomore guard Grace Corelli was named Honorable Mention All-Rochester Area by the Rochester Chapter of the United States Basketball Writers' Association (USBWA), as announced by the USBWA on Tuesday.
 
Corelli, an Honorable Mention All-UAA selection, was the Yellowjackets' leading scorer and rebounder as a sophomore, averaging a team-high 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
 
The Bedford, NY native stepped into a larger role as a sophomore, playing a team-high 27.3 minutes per game while leading Rochester offensively. Corelli shot 33.5 percent (84-for-251) from the field, 27.6 percent (37-for-134) from three and 71.2 percent (37-for-52) from the free-throw line, adding 1.8 assists and 0.8 steals per contest.
 
Corelli was named the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout MVP and to the Chuck Resler All-Tournament Team, excelling against all six regional foes the Yellowjackets faced. Against Rochester-area competition, Corelli helped URochester post a 5-1 record, averaging 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 45.9 percent from beyond the arc, tallying 14 assists, eight steals and three blocks.
 
The sophomore scored in double figures four times against local competition, totaling 14 points vs. No. 22 SUNY Geneseo on Nov. 14, 19 points and nine rebounds in the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout vs. Nazareth on Nov. 22, 11 points against William Smith on Nov. 25 and 15 at RIT on Jan. 6.
 
The USBWA Rochester area is made up of nine local Division II and III schools: Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Keuka College, Roberts Wesleyan, RIT, the University of Rochester, Nazareth University, St. John Fisher University, SUNY Brockport and SUNY Geneseo.
