HAMILTON, NY – Division I Colgate University handed the University of Rochester men's tennis team a 7-0 loss in its regular season finale on Sunday afternoon at the Abrahmson Tennis Courts at Colgate.
URochester wraps up its regular season with a 6-10 record overall, while Colgate improves to 7-12 on its 2025-26 campaign.
The Raiders impressed in doubles play, handing the Yellowjackets three losses, all by 6-2 scores or better.
Alan Wang and
Ethan Samora at first doubles, and
Andy Liu along with
Surya Rajamani at third doubles fell by 6-1 scores. At the number two spot,
Aiden Swartz and
Tony Xu fell by a 6-2 score.
In singles play, the matches played out in order, finishing one through six. Lochlan Seth blanked Liu at one for the 2-0 Colgate lead.
Aidan Lee followed with a straight set win over
Alan Wang (7-5, 6-2) at number two, with Tim Vargas earning the clinching point at three against Swartz (6-4, 6-4).
At number four, Aidan Chung won 7-5, 6-1 over Samora with Parker McGowan winning 6-1, 6-0 at five versus Xu. The match wrapped up with a 6-1, 6-1 win by Adam Fink against
Joseph Xia.
The Yellowjackets have a few more matches left in their season, with the team heading to Florida later this week to compete in the UAA Championships from Thursday through Saturday.
