The University of Rochester women's volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year, as announced by AVCA on Thursday.
 
To receive Team Academic honors, programs must maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale, during the recently completed academic year.
 
More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs qualified this year, including all eight University Athletic Association (UAA) programs.
 
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
 
The Yellowjackets earned the AVCA's Team Academic recognition for the 12th time overall under Head Coach Ladi Iya.
