Softball Sees 13 Named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

13 members of the University of Rochester softball team earned Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition for the 2025-26 academic year, as announced by the NFCA on Wednesday.
 
Seniors Molly Broccolo, Marie Kinchington, Rowan Mulholland, Jensen Sminchak, Ilana Weiss and Maddie White, juniors Riley Laygo, Julianna Lyons, Maithili Shah and Katelyn Wade, sophomores Quin Caretti and Madi Paige, and first-year Saira Ramakrishnan all earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for their efforts in the classroom this past year.
 
Weiss, White and Lyons are all three-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honorees, while Broccolo, Kinchington, Mulholland, Paige, Shah, Sminchak and Wade score their second accolade.
 
As a team, the Yellowjackets achieved a Team GPA of 3.6, just shy of landing on the NFCA Division III Top-25 list.
 
Student-athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year are recognized with NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors.
 
8,852 collegiate student-athletes captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2025-26 academic year, including 2,493 in NCAA Division III.
