Tyler Smith joins the University of Rochester baseball coaching staff for the 2025 spring season.
Smith comes to the University after working in the summer of 2024 with the Atlanta Braves organization as a Player Development – Video and Information Trainee. With the Braves, he operated various baseball technologies, including BATS, Trackman and Edgertronic and organized advance scouting reports.
Prior to his time in Major League Baseball, Smith served as Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Monroe Community College in Rochester. He worked at MCC for two years from 2022 to 2024. During those seasons, he also was a Pitching Coordinator at iD Evolution.
Additionally, Smith also has been a Remote Trainer for Driveline Baseball (Seattle, WA) and served as Director of Player Development at Team PAC Baseball (Rochester, NY).
Smith attended Monroe Community College and earned his associate’s degree in Liberal Arts in 2021 before moving onto the Rochester Institute of Technology where he would earn a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2023.
