Nancy Bansbach joins the Rochester field hockey coaching staff as a volunteer for the 2019 season.
The 2019 Rochester graduate was a four-year player for the Yellowjacket field hockey program.
After a breakout season as a senior in 2018, Bansbach was named a 1st Team NFHCA All-American and Liberty League Player of the Year. In addition, she was a 1st Team All-Liberty League choice and was 1st Team All-Region while also being selected to the NFHCA Division III Senior All-Star game.
The 2018 season saw Bansbach record career highs in every statistical category, including goals (21), assists (5), points (47), shots (93) and game-winning goals (6). She ranked 2nd in Rochester single-season history in points and goals and finished her career inside the top-10 in games, game-winning goals, goals scored and points.
Off the field, Bansbach was selected as the UR Athletic Department’s Sylvia Fabricant Award winner in 2019 and was a two-time team captain for the Rochester field hockey program.
Bansbach earned a Bachelor’s degree in 2019 from Rochester, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She is completing her Master’s coursework also on the River Campus as a part of the CMTI Engineering program.
