Smalls is in his 23rd year on the coaching staff and his 27th season with the Yellowjacket basketball program. He was a member of the UR basketball team from 1985-1988.
Adrian graduated from the University in 1988. Earned his master’s degree in public administration from SUNY Brockport in 1996.
He earned All-Association honors from the University Athletic Association and in his senior year (1987-88), he was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Chase Scholarship Tournament.
Ended his River Campus career ranked third in assists with 445 and was 15th in scoring. Set two University three-point shooting records in his playing days. A native of New York City who played scholastically at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx.
Away from the court, the Department of Athletics and Recreation honored Smalls with the Lysle “Spike” Garnish Memorial Citation in 2008 for his long-standing work with students here.
