Rowan Niemela transitions to a student assistant role following a three-year stint on the Yellowjackets roster.
Overall in his three seasons, Niemela has appeared in eight games for the Yellowjackets. He scored his first collegiate points in a win over Clarkson in March of 2021, draining a 3-pointer.
In 2021-22, he was named to the NABC Honors Court and is a 2-time member on the UAA’s All-Academic team.
He graduated from Winchendon School where he played basketball for the Wapiti. He was named team captain for two seasons and earned All-NEPSAC 1st Team Class C honors during junior and senior year. Niemela also helped his team finished second in NEPSAC conference twice during high school career.
