Alex Swanger joins the Rochester coaching staff as a volunteer men's soccer coach for the 2015 season.
Swanger, a 2015 graduate of the University just completed a spectacular four year career playing soccer for the Yellowjackets. Â For his career, he tallied 19 goals and 13 assists for 51 points. Â Overall he played in 65 games (62 starts) for UR and recorded six game-winning goals, including three in his junior season.
Swanger was a 4-time All-UAA selection, earning UAA Most Valuable Player honors as a junior in 2013. Â He also earned NSCAA 3rd Team All-American honors that year.
He also enjoyed a tremendous effort in the classroom at the University. Â Swanger graduated with a degree in Economics and was a 2-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, 2-time NSCAA Scholar All-Region and 3-time UAA All-Academic choice. Â He also earned the UR athletic department's Louis Alexander Alumni Award.
