Brian Wagstaff

The University of Rochester men’s soccer team has added Brian Wagstaff to its coaching staff, with his first day on the River Campus being August 14, 2023.
 
Wagstaff comes to Rochester after serving as an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s teams at SUNY Oneonta. He coached with the Red Dragon men’s team for four years and the women’s program during the 2022 campaign.
 
He also worked as owner/operator of Kong Fitness LLC for six years.
 
Wagstaff played collegiately at Tompkins-Cortland Community College for two seasons and at Oneonta for two seasons. At Tompkins-Cortland CC, he had an outstanding career as a goalkeeper earning All-Region and All-MSAC honors while setting school records for goals against average and shutouts in a single-season and career.
 
At Oneonta as a player, he appeared in seven games. In 2014, he helped the Red Dragons finish with a 21-1-2 record, win the SUNYAC title and reach the NCAA Division III Final Four.
 
He earned an Associate’s degree in Sports Management from Tompkins-Cortland Community College in 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta in 2015.
