Evan Schutt returns for his third season on the men’s soccer coaching staff. Evan was an All-American defender for St. Lawrence University and worked the UR soccer camps prior to being named to the staff this spring. Coach Schutt will assist at training sessions, scout opponents and take responsibility for the functional training of the back four.
Coach Apple commented, “Evan had an incredible career as a player and still plays the game at an extremely high level so there is
instant respect from our players. His passion, work ethic and professional approach to everything he does make him a great role model for the boys. He is also close enough in age to our student-athletes that he is able to relate to the challenges they will face throughout their careers at Rochester - making him a great sounding board for them.”
Evan teaches 5th grade in the Hilton School District and resides in Fairport with his wife Liz. Evan and Liz work together with Empire United Soccer Academy, where Liz and Evan serve as head and assistant coach, respectively, in the Girls State Academy program.
