Sara Steinberg joined the University of Rochester tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2025 after a successful two-year stint as assistant coach with Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY.

While at Vassar, Steinberg helped the Brewers women’s team raise their Division III national ranking into the top-25, with the team earning the Liberty League Tournament title in 2025, Vassar’s first since the 2010 season. Steinberg and the rest of the Vassar coaches were named 2025 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.

As a team, Vassar was represented at the NCAA Division III Championships in 2024-25 and Steinberg also coached an individual singles qualifier in the 2023-24 season.

Additionally, Steinberg has served as a tennis professional or tennis coach at a variety of organizations throughout the last several years, including a stint with Manhattanville University in NCAA Division III.

Steinberg was a Division III student-athlete at Ithaca College where she played four years on the women’s tennis team. She was named team captain in 2020-21 and was a three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Sports Media with a minor in Coaching from Ithaca College in 2021 and later received a master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Athletic Leadership and Administration from Goucher College in 2024.
