Carly Assimon enters her first season as an assistant coach with the University of Rochester women’s basketball program in 2024-25.
She joins the Yellowjackets from SUNY Cortland in Cortland, NY where she served as an assistant coach with the Red Dragons. During her lone season at SUNY Cortland, Assimon helped guide the team to an 18-8 record and the second seed in the SUNYAC tournament.
Prior to her time at SUNY Cortland, Assimon began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at her alma mater, Clarkson University where she spent two seasons.
A 2021 graduate of Clarkson University, Assimon was a four-year member of the Golden Knights women’s basketball program, serving as a team captain for three seasons. She was also a three-time Liberty League All-Academic team member.
As a player, Assimon finished her career at with the Golden Knights having played in 59 games and totaling 349 points, 156 rebounds, 99 assists, and 45 steals. She ranks tenth all-time at Clarkson in three-point field goals made with 83.
Assimon earned her bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2021 and her master’s in Business Administration 2023.
