Gabrielle Doemel Coffey

Gabrielle (Gabe) Doemel Coffey joined the University of Rochester women’s basketball staff in 2012 after a two year stint being the head coach at Hudson Valley Community College.  At Hudson Valley, she was awarded the NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year and HVCC Athletic Department’s Coach of the Year awards following the 2010-11 season.  She also was awarded Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors following the 2009-10 season.
 
Before coaching at Hudson Valley, Coffey worked as a women’s basketball graduate assistant at Ithaca College under coach Dan Raymond.
 
Gabe graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a bachelors of arts in Psychology.  She played three years of basketball for the Red Dragons and was named captain her senior year.  During her freshman year, she was a member of the Siena basketball team.  At Oneonta, she was named to the SUNYAC All-Conference team in 2005-06 and was a two-time SUNYAC All-Academic team member.
 
After graduation from Oneonta in 2006, Coffey went on to receive her Masters degree of Science in Exercise and Sport Science Studies from Ithaca College.  She has also gotten a Masters degree in School Counseling from SUNY Albany.
 
She currently resides in Fairport with her husband Sean who is an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program at St. John Fisher College.
