Kelsey Poplawski is entering her third season with the University of Rochester women’s basketball coaching staff in 2021-22.
In her previous two seasons, Poplawski has helped coach two All-UAA performers, the 2020 UAA Rookie of the Year and worked with two players who combined to earn three All-Region honors. The Yellowjackets during her time have amassed 17 wins, including a 5-1 mark in the abbreviated 2020-21 campaign.
She came to the River Campus after a stint with Bard College as a women’s basketball assistant coach over the summer of 2019.
Poplawski was a 2019 graduate of SUNY Geneseo and member of the Knights women’s basketball team. She was a two-time team captain and helped Geneseo qualify for the NCAA Division III tournament for three seasons.
The Knights were SUNYAC champions in 2017-18 and she was selected conference Tournament MVP that year. Poplawski was also a two-time SUNYAC All-Tournament Team honoree.
Overall in her Geneseo career, Poplawski appeared in 85 games, making 51 starts and scored over 600 career points. She added nearly 200 rebounds and 100 assists. She also played one season at John Carroll University in 2015-16.
She graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a bachelor’s degree in Communication.
