Bansbach `23 enters her first season as an assistant coach in 2024-25 with the University of Rochester cross country and track & field programs, having re-joined the Yellowjackets after spending the past year at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

A 2023 graduate of the University of Rochester, Bansbach competed for the Wolverines’ track & field program for one season while earning her master’s degree in sports management.

One of the most decorated track & field athletes in program history, Bansbach was an 11-time United States Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-American, a 19-time USTFCCCA All-Region selection and a 15-time All-Liberty League honoree for the Yellowjackets. She qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships six times, reaching the championships in every possible season, and ran the anchor leg of UR’s Indoor National Champion 4x400 Relay at the 2023 Championships, which set a Division III record that still stands.

Bansbach was also a three-time Liberty League Track Athlete of the Year and the 2023 Niagara Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, held six school records at the time of her graduation, and was named the recipient of the 2023 Merle Spurrier Award to cap off her Rochester career after receiving both the Sylvia Fabricant Award and Lysle ‘Spike’ Garnish Scholar-Athlete honors a year prior.

The Fayetteville, NY native also excelled in the classroom, scoring College Sports Communicators (CSC) Second-Team Academic All-America honors in 2023, as well as three USTFCCCA and Liberty League All-Academic accolades and two CSC Academic All-District selections.

During her time with both the ‘Jackets and Wolverines, Bansbach was also heavily involved with the athletic department, helping with track and field competition management at Michigan, and working as an assistant equipment manager for two years at UR, in addition to game management roles.

A 2022-23 team captain, Bansbach was also a three-year member of the field hockey team, served as the athlete representative to the UR Title IX office, and was a member of Rochester’s VSAAC. Throughout her time at UR, Bansbach also both coached and refereed field hockey, and volunteered at numerous CNY Tri and Ironman Triathlons.

Bansbach graduated with her bachelor’s degree in international relations and Russian studies from UR in May 2023, and her master’s degree in sports management from Michigan in May 2024.
