Lucy Haggerty joins the University of Rochester lacrosse coaching staff in a full-time capacity in the summer of 2024 after serving in a volunteer capacity with the Yellowjackets during the spring 2024 season.

A 2023 graduate of the University, Haggerty was a four-year starter with the Yellowjacket lacrosse team, serving as team captain as a senior in 2023.

Haggerty ranks second in Rochester lacrosse history with 72 assists over 42 career games played (42 starts), also adding 38 goals to her stat line for 110 career points. The Victor, NY native also secured 70 career draw controls and notched five game-winning goals during her time with UR.

She also was heavily decorated during her time at Rochester for an outstanding academic career. Haggerty graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 2023. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi Honors Societies and was named a University of Rochester Provost Circle Scholar.

Additionally, Haggerty was a College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-American in 2023, received three Liberty League All-Academic awards and was voted as the Terrence L. Gurnett Female Scholar-Athlete Award recipient in the spring of her senior season.

Since graduation, Haggerty has worked at the University of Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital as an Ambulatory Technician and spent the early part of 2024 shadowing Dr. Raymond Kenney in the operating room and clinic at the UR Medicine Orthopaedics & Physical Performance Center.
