Kristen Hubright is in her second year working with the University of Rochester women’s soccer program. She spent the spring of 2011 volunteering with the team in their off season and that summer was announced by head coach Thomas ‘Sike’ Dardaganis as the program’s first assistant and goalkeeper coach.
A Rochester native and local high school graduate of Webster Thomas High School class of 2005, Hubright was an active goalkeeper for school, the Rochester Junior Rhinos Premier Club and New York State West ODP (Olympic Developmental Program).
As part of the program’s inaugural season, Hubright received Monroe County 1st Team honors all four of her high school years, was selected to the All-Greater Rochester 2nd Team her sophomore year and All-Greater Rochester 1st Team her Junior and Senior year. Along with other state honors, she was voted team MVP four years straight. Kristen was the starting goalkeeper of the Junior Rhinos Premier team and a member of the 1987 NY State West ODP team since age 12. During her college summers, she played with the Rochester W-League Lady Rhinos team. With these clubs, she traveled extensively and attended many prestigious tournaments up and down the coast.
Hubright attended Central Michigan University on a soccer scholarship in 2005. She was a member of the first CMU women’s soccer team to win the Mid American Conference (MAC) championship, and continued onto the second round of the NCAA Division I Tournament where they lost to Notre Dame. Since her freshman year at CMU, her team has had the highest G.P.A. in the nation for seven consecutive years. Kristen graduated Summa Cum Laude from CMU in December 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education with a major in Earth Science ad a minor in Physical Education.
She is currently pursuing a dual master’s certification from the University of Rochester in literacy and special education.
