University of Rochester Athletics

After spending the last four seasons competing on the swimming team at the Ohio State University, Brad Shannon joins the University of Rochester coaching staff for the 2019-20 season.
 
While in the pool with the Buckeyes, Shannon competed at three Big Ten Championships, with his primary events being in the backstroke.  He was a team captain, an Academic All-Big Ten honoree three times in his career and was a four-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.  Shannon also was a Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree in 2018.
 
Shannon was a USA Swimming Olympic Trials qualifier in 2016.  He also has coaching experience at Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics and was a volunteer swim coach with the Special Olympics.
 
He graduated from Ohio State in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, specializing in Security and Intelligence.
