Kevin Howard

Kevin Howard (Rochester '11) completed his third year on the Yellowjacket swimming staff in the 2015-16 season. Howard was a four-time NCAA provisional qualifier, and five-time record holder during his collegiate career at Rochester. He works directly with the men's and women's distance swimmers, long middle distance swimmers, and 400IMers. He is also responsible for co-coordinating both the weight and dryland programs for the team.

With Howard on the deck coaching, Rochester swimmers achieved a multitude of honors: 51 school records, seven All-UAA performers, 40 NCAA provisional qualifiers, seven NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship performers, seven Honorable Mention All-American athletes, 51 Liberty League event champions, and three Liberty League team championships.

Academically, the Rochester swimmers and divers had 15 people named as Scholar All-Americans or Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans by the CSCAA, three CSCAA Team Scholar All-America awards, and two Academic All-America honors as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Prior to his return to Rochester, Howard was an assistant for Whitman College where he helped coach those swimmers to nine provisional NCAA qualifying times, and 28 new school records. One of Whitman's swimmers became an NCAA All-American. Whitman finished 27th at the NCAA championship meet that year. Howard has worked as a clinician at both the University of Rochester and Nike swimming camps.

Howard was graduated from the University of Rochester with a BS in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in History. He is currently completing his Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering.
