Dan “Provo” Provenzano has been the head equipment manager at the University of Rochester since 2006. He is responsible for all athletic equipment purchasing, reconditioning, maintenance and inventory control. He is certified by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) and has been involved with the organization since 2007.
Provenzano was the original equipment manager for the Rochester Razorsharks of the ABA (American Basketball Association). The team won the league championship in their inaugural year, and the same year was awarded 2005-06 Staff of the Year.
In his more than 15 years at UR, Provenzano has been a favorite subject for student papers, an oft discussed topic in Professor Memmot’s class, and profiled in the Campus Times on multiple occasions.
Provenzano is a lifelong Rochester resident. He earned his BS from John Carroll University in 1996 and MA in Athletic Administration from SUNY Brockport in 1999.
