University of Rochester Athletics

Jaclyn Cunningham joined the University of Rochester Athletic Department as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in Aug. 2026. Cunningham joins the Yellowjackets following one year as the head athletic trainer at East Irondequoit Central Schools.
 
During her time in Rochester, NY, Cunningham also served as an outreach athletic trainer for Rochester Regional Hospital.
 
Prior to arriving in Rochester, Cunningham spent six years in Columbus, OH, working as an assistant athletic trainer at the Ohio State University for four years, in addition to two years as the senior graduate education specialist & fellowship program coordinator at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. With the Buckeyes, Cunningham worked closely with Ohio State’s men’s and women’s volleyball programs.
 
A graduate of Boston University, Cunningham also had previous stops as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Illinois from 2016-19 and Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2015-16.
 
Cunningham began her career in collegiate athletics as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, spending two seasons with the Tar Heels’ women’s gymnastics and club sports programs.
 
Cunningham earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Boston University and her master’s degree in athletic training from UNC Chapel Hill.
 
Cunningham resides in Fairport, NY with her husband, Alec, son, Harrison, and two dogs, Reece and Domino.
