Scott is in his second stint as an assistant coach with the Rochester men’s basketball program in 2023-24, serving as a volunteer assistant coach this season.
He had previously coached with the Yellowjackets back in the early 2000’s for two years.
His additional coaching experience includes working with 17-U AAU team Franchise Baller’s Bball Club from 2007-13 and coaching at various collegiate basketball camps including ones at Rochester, Syracuse, American U. and Georgetown. He also worked at Five Star and LeBron James Skills Academy Camps.
Scott is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the Rochester City School District. He was previously employed at Edison Career & Technology High School in Rochester, serving as Principal from Spring 2019 through Spring 2023. He had been Assistant Principal for four years prior and has worked as a school counselor and administrator for several institutions during his career.
While at Edison, Scott served as Varsity Basketball Head Coach for more than a decade. He was recognized by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York as Coach of the Year in 2013.
He attended Rochester and was a 1999 graduate of the University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History, minoring in Journalism. He played three seasons with the Yellowjackets men’s basketball program.
After graduation from UR, he went on to earn his master’s degree from SUNY Brockport in Counselor Education and later completed a certificate of advanced study (CAS) in Educational Administration from Brockport.
