The men's soccer team defeated SUNY Plattsburgh, 3-1, in the semifinals of the ECAC Northeast Regional Soccer Championships at Hobart College.

The win moves the Yellowjackets into Sunday's championship game against SUNY Geneseo. Rochester has won three straight ECAC titles.

Tyler Green scored two goals and Nate Micklos scored one - all in the second half - as the Yellowjackets took control.

Green broke up a scoreless battle at 60:55. His original header struck the crossbar and came right back to him. He headed the rebound into the net for his first goal of the year.

Plattsburgh equalized on a penalty kick at 65:38.

Micklos broke the deadlock with his fifth gamewinning goal this season. He collected a pass from Damien Hallatt and ripped the ball from the top of the penalty area at 67:17. It was his 13th goal of the season.

Green completed the scoring at 78:44. Hallatt's pass from midfield found him in stride and he slipped it past the goalkeeper.

Rochester held a 20-12 advantage in shots. Brian Minehan made two saves and the Yellowjacket defense headed two balls off the line.

Rochester os 13-4-3. Plattsburgh finished at 15-5-0. The Cardinals were the tournament's number two seed. Rochester, which defeated Vassar on penalty kicks on Wednesday at Fauver Stadium, is the tournament's third seed.
