Emily Urbanczyk scored on a penalty kick 54 seconds into the second sudden death overtime to give the Yellowjackets a 2-1 victory over SUNY Cortland on the road Saturday.
The penalty was awarded after Cortland was whistled for fouling Rochester's Anne McMahon in the penalty area.
Cortland took a 1-0 lead at 8:52. Andrea Marino drove a 25-yard shot to the upper left corner of the goal, beyond the reach of Rochester's Adrianne Hulchanski. It was Marino's fourth goal of the season.
The Yellowjackets equalized at 36:24. Ashley Weagraff curled a pass into the goalmouth that swerved into the net. It was her second goal of the season.
It was scoreless after that until Urbanczyk's penalty kick. It is her third gamewinning goal this season and her seventh tally of the year.
Molly Leitch replaced Hulchanski in goal at halftime for the Yellowjackets. She made one save in 55:54 to pick up the win, her fourth.
Christa Windhorst made 12 saves for the Red Dragons.
Rochester is 8-3-3 overall. Cortland is 7-9-2.
