Despite a strong offensive presence, the Yellowjacket field hockey team fell to Houghton College in overtime, 1-0, in their final home game of the 2004 season.
The 'Jackets outshot Houghton 15-3 over the course of the game. Kristy Johnson led with 4 shots, with Revay Wilson, Krista Butler, Mary DiMatteo, and Celinda Fletcher contributing as well. Laura Kine kicked out 10 shots for Houghton, while Rachel Cahan made one save for Rochester.
The decisive moment came with 7:55 remaining in overtime. Kristin Mazzeo drew a penalty for Houghton, and a penalty shot was awarded. Mazzeo scored to end the game.
Rochester's record stands at 10-9, while Houghton improves to 9-4. Rochester will continue its season on the road, taking on SUNY-Oneonta on Saturday at 1pm.
