Host Johns Hopkins scored two early goals and held on for a 2-0 victory over Rochester in the JHU Tournament.
The Blue Jays won the tournament title. Rochester, which defeated Dickinson College, 1-0, in overtime on Friday, finished second. The Yellowjackets are 1-1. JHU is 2-1.
Meg McIntosh 7:46 into the match on a 10 yarder off a scramble. Kim lane made it 2-0 at 15:50, heading home a corner kick.
Neither side could penetrate for good shots. Each team took five shots at goal. Adrienne Hulchanski made two saves in the Rochester net. Jen Goebel had two saves for the Blue Jays.
Rochester opens its home season on Saturday, Sept. 11, at noon vs. St. John Fisher College.
