ATLANTA, Ga. – Sophomores Danielle Muller and Emily Lyons combined for 31 points off the bench to lead the University of Rochester to a 58-36 victory over host Emory University here.
Muller scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, eight off the offensive glass. She hit 7 of 12 from the floor and 2 of 2 outside the arc. The point total is one shy of her career high – 17 set last Sunday in an OT loss to Chicago. Lyons matched her career with with 15 points, hitting 7 of 10 from the field.
The Yellowjackets led, 24-23 at the half, then held Emory to 3 of 20 shooting from the floor in the second half. Rochester went on a 19-4 run over the first 12 minutes of the second half to take control, 43-27. Lyons scored seven of the 19 and Muller had six.
Rochester improved to 9-8 overall, 2-5 in the UAA. Emory is 2-5 in the UAA, 6-11 overall. The Yellowjackets were up before dawn on Sunday and flew to Atlanta from Cleveland. The flight landed after 10:30 am and UR stepped on the court to play less than six hours later.
