In their biggest meet of the year to date, the men's cross country team produced its strongest finish of the season. Rochester was third out of 18 teams at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational.
The Yellowjackets placed two runners in the top eight, three in the top 20, and four through the tape 25th or better. There were 192 individuals in the field.
Mark Stevens was the individual runnerup. He was clocked in 25:20 for the 8K course and was just four seconds away from tying for first place. Kevin McGettrick was the second Rochester finisher, scoring eighth overall in 26:11.
The third man was Dan Mueller (26:40), with Joe Lust 25th (26:58) and Dan Chebot 27th (27:03). The displacers were Tom Brekke (31st, 27:11) and Andrew Whitbeck (32nd, 27:12) with Tyler Kieft right on their heels (27:16).
