Danielle Muller scored 15 points to lead three double figure scorers as the women's basketball team defeated Case Western Reserve University, 70-54, at the Louis Alexander Palestra.
Kelly Wescott and Megan Fish scored 11 points apiece for Rochester. Muller grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to help Rochester to a 50-36 advantage on the glass.
Dana Dempsey scored 16 points for the Spartans and Amber Hammell added 12 points off the bench.
The win was Rochester's third in a row. The Yellowjackets are 4-5 in the University Athletic Association, 11-8 overall. Rochester holds a one-half game lead over CWRU for fifth place in the standings. CWRU is 3-5 UAA, 8-10 overall.
Jim Scheible gained his 100th Rochester victory in his sixth season on the sidelines. Scheible's Rochester record is 100-58. His career mark is 243-129 in 14 years.
Five players scored in a 19-2 run over 8:37 that gave Rochester a 25-11 lead with 7:19 to play in the first half. Muller and Fish scored five points apiece and Wescott had four. It was 38-23 at halftime.
