Men Are 3rd at Penn St. Race

With much more balance and sound running, the men's cross country team surged to a third place finish out of 14 teams at the Penn State Behrend Invitational.

Rochester had 56 points, narrowly behind Case Western (51) and champion Mount Union (34) but well ahead of host Penn State Behrend (124).

Mark Stevens was Rochester's top finisher for the second straight meet. Stevens finished second overall in a time of 26:03 for the 8K course. Kevin McGettrick was seventh overall (27:03).

Dan Mueller was the third Yellowjacket to cross the finish line. he was 10th overall in 27:35. Dan Chebot was 15th in 27:52. Rochester's fifth finisher was Tyler Kieft in 28:16 (23rd).

The displacers were Tom Brekke (28:19) in 24th place and Andrew Whitbeck in 27th (28:29).

There were 101 runners in the field.
