PITTSBURGH - Stephanie Klenotich and Emily Urbanczyk scored goals to help the women's soccer team defeat Carnegie Mellon University, 2-1.
Rochester improved to 13-1-3 overall, 4-1-1 in the UAA. Carnegie Mellon is 7-7-1 overall, 2-4 in the UAA.
Klenotich scored her first goal of the season at 7;50 when she headed in a corner kick from Laura Morrison. The Yellowjackets boosted the lead to 2-0 at 57:26. Anne McMahon crossed the ball and Emily Urbanczyk hit a one-timer into the net. It was Urbanczyk's fifth goal of the season.
Carnegie Mellon cut the deficit in half at 50:47. Sara DeWath latched onto a rebound and knocked it into the goal.
Molly Leitch made three saves in goal and the Yellowjacket defense cleared one ball off the line. For CMU, Christie Adams nade four saves.
Carnegie had a 12-7 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
