Depsite a 19-5 advantage in shots, the field hockey team was upended by Kean College, 2-1, on Friday afternoon.
Rochester conceded a goal in the first five minutes. The Yellowjackets pressed and did well in transition, tying the score when Kristy Johnson knocked home a rebound at 21:11. Kean broke thge deadlock with 6:53 to play.
Rachel Cahan had three saves for Rochester. The Yellowjackets had nine penalty corners to five for Kean. The game was played at Misericordia College in Pennsylvania.
Rochester opens the home season on Wednesday at 4 pm vs. SUNY Cortland in Fauver Stadium.
