Cortland State scored early in the second half to claim a 1-0 win over the Yellowjackets in field hockey at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

Junior goaltender Rachel Cahan was brilliant in the Rochester cage. She made 20 saves, the majority of the difficult variety. Cahan had 15 saves in the first half.

The Red Dragons broke through at 46:59. Kayla Chambers pushed a penalty corner to the top of the circle. Christine McCabe collected it, cut inside, and whistled a low shot through a tangle of legs and under Cahan's dive for the goal.

Rochester's best chance for an equalizer came with approximately 15 minutes to play. Celinda Fletcher hit a 10-yarder from the center of the box but it was blocked by a tangle of legs in front of the Cortland cage.
