he women's soccer team scored early goals in each half and went on to a 3-1 victory over Union College at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

Mary Walsh scored five minutes into the match, Emily Urbanczyk made it 2-0 midway through the period, and Anne McMahon scored nine minutes after the restart. Rochester improved to 4-0-1.

Union's Danielle Pomarole broke up the Yellowjacket shutout streak when she scored at 87:38. It ended Rochester's scoreless run at 467:38. Rebecca Skudde had the assist. The Dutchwomen are 1-2-1.

Goals were non-existent between the teams last year. Rochester and Union battled to a pair of 0-0 double OT draws in Schenectady. The second meeting came in the second round of the NCAA playoffs. Rochester advanced on penalty kicks.

This time, the match was just 4:59 old when Walsh knocked home a rebound from one yard off the endline. Urbanczyk made it 2-0 at 23:06. The Yellowjackets transitioned well, with the ball moving from Laura Bojko to Laura Morrison, and finally upfield to Urbanczyk who slotted it past Kaitlin Graham.

In the second half, a corner kick was cleared to the top of the box and McMahon slashed it to the top right corner at 54:01.

Skudder made a long run up the right sideline before playing it into the path of Pomarole who made a one-time touch into the net.

Graham played the first 80:25 for Union in goal. She made five saves and allowed three goals. Melissa McDonald played the last 9:35. She did not have a save or allow a goal.

Molly Leitch played the full 90 for Rochester. She allowed on goal and made one save. Rochester held a 15-10 advantage in shots. Corners were even at 4-4.
