Christi Bottcher and Kristy Johnson scored goals just 1:10 apart to snap a 1-1 deficit and lead Rochester to a 4-1 field hockey victory over Utica College at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
Bottcher scored on a penalty stroke at 44:05. Johnson made it 3-1 at 45:15, sweeping home a goalmouth pass from Celinda Fletcher.
Mary DiMatteo and Kari Plewniak each scored goals for the Yellowjackets. Fletcher had two assists.
Amanda Iannello scored the Utica goal at 10:23, assisted by Meghan Zaklukiewicz.
Rochester goaltender Rachel Cahan made 13 saves, including a penalty stroke. Utica's Amanda McDonnell made six saves for the Pioneers.
Rochester improved to 3-2. Utica, which lost its third straight, is 3-3.
DiMatteo put the Yellowjackets ahead, 1-0, at 5:57. Fletcher pushed a pass into the path of Bottcher who fired and DiMatteo tipped it home.
Iannello equalized, driving a left wing shot home less than five minutes later after a penalty corner by Zaklukiewicz.
The Pioneers were awarded a penalty stroke with 11:17 left in the first half after Cahan stopped Zaklukewicz twice from in-close and Heidi Davies made a defensive save in a goalmouth scramble.
Theresa Staring drove the shot for the top left corner, but Cahan dove and batted it wide of the cage.
At halftime, Utica held a 13-4 advantage in shots. Cahan made 10 of her stops in the first half.
The Yellowjackets broke through early in the second half. Bottcher hit a low liner to the left hand corner on the penalty stroke, just under McDonnell's dive at 44:05. Just over a minute later, Fletcher broke through on the right side and swept the ball into the goalmouth where Johnson was there to tip it home.
Plewniak completed the scoring at 55:46. DiMatteo's penalty corner went outside the arc. Fletcher settled, strode forward, and hit a low shot that was deflected by Plewniak over McDonnell's pads, and into the net.
