SALISBURY, Md - The men's soccer team was edged, 1-0,when Salisbury Unviersity scored a late goal. The gamewining goal came with 6:13 to play.
The Yellowjackets dueled evenly with the hosts. Rochester's best chance in the first half came in the 20th minute when Nick Mikolenko fired from the top of the area but Salisbury gaolkeeper Matt Blue made the save.
Rochester's best chance to get on the scoreboard came in the 77th minute. The Yellowjackets pushed the ball down the flank and Matt Sulkin took it wide. He curled a pass into the goalmouth and Patrick Ripp charged down the middle. Ripp met the ball squarely but his header sailed just wide of the left post.
At 83;47, Salisbury's Kyle Sterling got the ball to Wijy Jones on a counterattack and Jones slid his shot to the low right corner.
Paco Corbalan made three saves in goal for the Yellowjackets. Blue finished with three saves.
Rochester is 4-2-1 overall. Salisbury is 5-1-1.
