NEW YORK - Rochester scored twice before the match was seven minutes old and went on to a 5-0 women's soccer victory over New York University in Manhattan.
The Yellowjackets had three multiple scorers: Laura Bojko had one goal and two assists. Laura Morrison and Angela Heaney had a goal and an assist apiece. Ashley Weagraff and Ali Streeter also scored for the Yellowjackets.
Rochester outshot NYU, 21-5 (13-2 on goal) and held an 8-1 advantage on corner kicks. Molly Leitch played the first 70:46 in net. She made two saves. Joy Sadaly played the final 19:14. She did not make a save.
For NYU, Katie Barnes had seven saves in the full 90 minutes. The NYU defense also cleared one ball off the line.
Weagraff opened the scoring at 2:40 when she drove home a corner kick from Morrison. Less than four minutes later, Morrison made it 2-0 when she scored after a Bojko pass following a free kick at 6:22.
Bojko scored from the left side of the penalty area at 22:42 (3-0), then crossed the ball for Heaney to head home at 38:53 for a 4-0 margin. Streeter completed the scoring at 70:46, assisted by Heaney.
Rochester improved to 7-0-1 overall, 1-0-0 in the University Athletic Association.
