Laura Bojko scored in the ninth minute when she took a pass from Tammy Brewster and curled it into the top left hand corner of the net from 15 yards out.
Rochester had two other chances to double the lead. Later in the half, another corner kick went into the center of the box. It was bobbled and Amy Thompson's header was saved by Fedeles.
Emory's attack, which had scored 39 goals in 12 matches, had three good chances to equalize in the last 17 minutes. With 16:45 to go, a long free kick from Leanna Racine found top scorer Jamie English for a header that was cleared for a corner kick. Right after the corner, Meghan McMahon took a shot in a scramble that was saved by Rochester goalkeeper Molly Leitch (four saves).
With just over eight minutes left, Alexa Wahr made a long run down the right sideline and got the ball to English in the box. Her shot was saved by Leitch and Rochester's Kelsey Turley cleared the rebound.
For the second time in eight calendar days, the Yellowjackets handed a team its first loss of the season. On October 6, Rochester defeated NYU, 1-0.
