Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Goalless Draw for W. Soccer

Senior goalkeeper Molly Leitch posted her sixth shutout in the last seven outings as the women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie with Nazareth at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

Leitch made three saves on nine Nazareth shots. Her best stop may have come with just over five minutes left in the first overtime. On a counterattack, the Golden Flyers switched the ball from right wing to the left side and found Rachel Cushman running behind the defense. Cushman cut into the left side of the penalty area and fired - only to see Leitch parry it away after she raced 14 yards off her goalline as the break developed.

With five minutes left in the second OT, Nazareth's Erica Conte swept down the left side and cut to the top of the penalty arc before shooting just over the crossbar.

Rochester was far from bereft of chances. Ten minutes into the second half, Rochester's Ali Streeter hit the underside of the crossbar from 25 yards out on the left side and Nazareth goalkeeper Hillary Simon dove on the rebound.

Two minutes later, Tammy Brewster stripped the ball from a defender and came in alone on the wing. She crossed it into the middle in search of a teammate, but no one could get to the pass in time.

In the middle of the first OT, Rochester's Laura Bojko attacked from the right side. She slid the ball to Brewster whose shot from the edge of the crease was blocked by the defense.

The last good Rochester chance came with 6:30 left in the second overtime. Bridgette Varin created on the right and fed Bojko whose hard shot was parried for a corner kick by Simon.

Rochester held a 15-9 edge in shots. Nazareth had four conrer kicks to Rochester's three. Simon made five saves for Nazareth.

The Yellowjackets are 8-3-2. Nazareth is 9-4-1.
