Alicia Citro and Lara Bucarey scored two goals apiece to lead the Yellowjackets past Vassar, 6-1, in field hockey at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
Christi Bottcher had a goal and an assist for the Yellowjackets. The final Rochester goal was scored by Kyra Pinsky.
Vassar's goal came through the efforts of Katherine Simon. She scored her eighth goal of the season just 1:32 before intermission.
Rachel Cahan played the first 35 minutes for Rochester in goal. She made three saves and allowed the one goal. Robin Levy played the second half. She made one save.
Ellie Pomerantz played the first half for the Brewers. She made one save and allowed four goals. Taylor Herman played the second 35 minutes. She made two saves and allowed two goals.
Rochester finished its Liberty League season at 3-4, in fifth place. The Yellowjackets are 9-6 overall with three games left. Rochester hosts Brockport on Wednesday at 4 pm. The Yellowjackets visit Oneonta and Hartwick next weekend.
Vassar finished with an 0-7 record in Liberty League play. The Brewers are 3-11 overall.
Before the game, head coach Wendy Andreatta honored her five seniors: Cahan, Citro, Levy, Rana Pedram, and Kari Plewniak.
The Yellowjackets wasted little time taking charge. Less than 90 seconds into the match, the Yellowjackets broke downfield. Citro fed a lead pass to Bucarey who stepped wide of a defender and lined her ninth goal of the season into the wood.
Citro made it 2-0 at 3:31, driving home her second goal of the season. She scored another unassisted goal - this one at 13:37 - for a 3-0 lead. It grew to 4-0 at 25:38 on Bottcher's goal.
Simon got one back for the Brewers at 33:28. Bucarey scored her 10th of the season at 49:59 and Pinsky completed the scoring by turning home Bottcher's pass at 59:23.
