Shaila DeLea scored two goals and Christine Kemp set up a pair as Skidmore College defeated the University of Rochester, 3-1, at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

It was Skidmore's fifth straight field hockey victory. The Thoroughbreds are 9-1 overall, 4-0 in the Liberty League.

Rochester is 5-4 overall, 1-3 in the Liberty League. All four Yellowjacket losses have come against nationally-ranked opponents. Rochester hosts Union College on Saturday at 2 pm.

Mariko Cummings broke a 0-0 tie at 26:08. Skidmore's Elise Britt made a long run along the right sideline. She pushed the ball into the center, two yards off the line. Kemp steered it to Cummings who pushed it into the left side of the cage.

Less than four minutes later, DeLea scored her first of the game and eighth this season. Rochester goaltender Rachel Cahan pushed a cross wide of the right post. The ball looked to be going over the line, but Kemp got a stick on it and sent it into the middle for DeLea to tap home at 29:54.

DeLea made it 3-0 at 42:28. After a penalty corner, the ball bounced around the area. Sarah Donahue shoveled it to DeLea for the score.

Rochester pulled a goal back at 47:55. Alicia Citro's long pass outside the circle was directed into the net by Erica Gelb.

Cahan made 13 saves in goal for the Yellowjackets. Liz Catinella made five saves for Skidmore.
