Lara Bucarey and Amanda Case scored 18 seconds apart in the second half and the field hockey team went on to a 3-0 win over Nazareth at Fauver Stadium.
Erica Gelb scored the third goal for the Yellowjackets. Rochester improved to 3-1 while Nazareth fell to 1-2.
Rachel Cahan made eight saves to post her first shutout of the season. Cahan stopped Nazareth's Jodee Magistro four times in the first eight minutes of the second half to keep the game scoreless.
The Yellowjackets broke into the scoring column at 47:44. After a penalty corner was deflected, Kari Plewniak fired from the center of the circle. Nazareth goaltender Katie May parried the shot. It fell onto Bucarey's stick and she redirected it into the cage for a 1-0 lead.
Rochester stole the ball quickly off the restart and made it 2-0. Plewniak tried a shot from the left side of the circle. May knocked it down. It rolled in the area with neither team able to gain control until Case got her stick on it and pushed it into the open net at 48:02.
The Yellowjackets scored their third goal after a penalty corner. Gelb played the ball to the top of the circle. Bucarey passed it back to her and she chipped it past May at 53:50.
May made five saves for the Golden Flyers in 54:34. She was replaced by Stacy Kingsley who went the last 15:26 without being required to make a save. She did disrupt two Rochester breakaways.
