CORTLAND, N.Y. - Fourth-ranked SUNY Cortland scored twice in each half enroute to a 4-0 win over Rochester in field hockey on Wednesday.
Lauren Eichenberger scored twice for the Red Dragons (2-1). Kayla Chambers and Katie Johnson had a goal and an assist apiece.
For Rochester, Rachel Cahan had 10 saves in 70 minutes between the pipes. Alicia Citro made two defensive saves. Cortland held a 20-3 shot advantage.
Chambers scored 2:17 into the match and Eichenberger netted her first with 28:32 elapsed. Johnson and Eichenberger scored one each in the second half.
The game came two days after Rochester opened its 2007 season with a 3-1 victory at Houghton College. The Yellowjackets play at Elmira College on Saturday. They launch their home season on September 12 vs. Nazareth at 7 pm.
